Introduction to the Internet

INP
STA A
INP
STA B

HEY WAIT! Wrong module! -_-" This is what happens when you take 2 modules with the same lecturer teaching. And I actually spent 5 mins in the CSE111 group trying to find those blog samples from other people. Gah, this confusion is gonna last for a while =X Yup, I'm taking both COM125 and CSE111 this semester and I will be seeing Dr. Choy 4 days a week =P Such fun! Just not too much recycled jokes please xD

Speaking of new journey, both modules are very foreign to me since I am a psy major xD Hence this would be a very interesting semester for me with a fresh change of knowledge from the stuff I am more commonly exposed to. Wait, I am suppose to be talking about the internet rig

ht?

See, like I said. Confusing. =P Anyway I have always used the internet without considering its underlying principles. So after that day's lesson on Web 1.0 and so on, it really got me thinking more about the internet.

Let me see if I got this right. Web 1.0 is basically a read only web where a producer provides information to the consumers. There are many of such webpages on the internet. This is something interesting I came across when I was searching more about Web 1.0 and Web 2.0

Web 2.0 is whereby the content is from the consumers as well and they can collaborate to be the producers of the webpage. Such an example is facebook which I'm sure that most of us are very familiar with. I frequently share content on it such as the food I eat. Somehow it never fails to evokes feelings into other people who sees them xD
Web 3.0 is where the web understand you. For example, I was searching around for good Wii games. And when I was looking at at game that caught my interest, the website actually suggested games I may like which are of similar nature. This is an example of web 3.0.

As for Web 4.0, it is basically the future of the internet. The possibilities are endless and technology is ever evolving. Imagine without lifting a finger, the internet loads by itself and display whatever you desire. How cool would that be! I guess all of us just have to wait and see what the future holds for us =P
